The bad weather of the last few weeks has imposed a forced stop, but the works on the construction sites of the new public works in Palmi seem to proceed. The municipal administration led by the mayor Giuseppe Ranuccio has invested a lot in political, economic terms and programming on the new infrastructures that aim to change the face of several city neighborhoods.
The large program of public works includes new infrastructure or recovery projects of works that had been abandoned for years. The bulk of the projects concerns the hilly district of San Giorgio, where five construction sites are currently active: the Park of the Civilization, the tennis courts, the new sports hall, the renovation of a small municipal kindergarten and the cycle path, abandoned for a few months for bureaucratic problems. Problems that, according to the first citizen, should have been overcome. All the projects in the neighborhood are “sewn” around the “Leonida Repaci” Culture House which houses the State Archive, the ethnographic museum, the Gipsoteca, the Pinacoteca, the Municipal Library, the Antiquarium and the musical museum.
