Over 400 Messina fans present in Piazza Municipio for a demonstration against the management of president Pietro Sciotto. Chants inviting him to leave: “We deserve a great Messina”. In the square the flags of Faithful, Hurricane Cep, Nocs and Fracidi. A protest in all respects against the failed management of these years. Because beyond the “thank you” that goes to president Sciotto for not having made Messina lose football, it is clear that a place like Messina cannot deserve a club that moves as it has done in recent years, in the name of improvisation worthy of an amateur club. And the fans shouted it out loud. There were also whistles for the mayor Federico Basile upon arrival at Palazzo Zanca, while a delegation was then received by the mayor. Fans have asked Basile to take matters into his own handsgoing so far as to hope that the Municipality does not give the stadium to the company. The mayor’s response was immediate: “In the meantime, let’s clear the field of politics – said Basile, also responding to those who contested his lack of initiative due to the political relationship of proximity with Matthew Sciottobrother of Pietro – The Municipality of Messina cannot not give the stadium to remove a property. I would not be a good mayor. If the president really wants to sell, which I do not know for sure, he will do it. But his is an entrepreneurial operation, football works like that”. Basile has however made the commitment to meet Sciotto to understand the future of the club, as a guarantee for the fans and the city.
Market
In the meantime, three other market operations have been formalized, all under, after Di Palma and Simonetta, while the Zafferana Etnea retreat has begun. The left-back Lino Ortisi, born in 2002, has been confirmed, with a one-year contract with an option for another season for him. Then Leonardo Pedicillo, born in 2003, an attacking midfielder who has signed a two-year contract (he had already been evaluated by the technical staff last year). Finally, Domenico Anzelmo, born in 2004, a midfielder who arrived from Vibonese with a year’s delay, given that he had already been followed by the Giallorossi last season.
In the over quota, the arrival of Giuseppe Loiacono, 32 years old leaving Crotone, is skipped: he will go to Ternana on a permanent basis. The discussion for the winger Spaltro is still open with the Calabrians. The new name is instead that of Antonio Marino, born in 1988 in Mazara del Vallo, an experienced central defender. In the last season, 21 appearances and one goal with the Latina shirt. In the past, always between Serie C and B, he played with Carrarese, Venezia, Lecce, Modena, Pavia, Cittadella, Varese, Reggina, Ascoli and Juve Stabia.
