The former regional councilor of Calabria and group leader of the Democratic Party at Palazzo Campanella, Sebi Romeo from Reggio, was fully acquitted. The acquittal sentence was issued today by the Naples Gup, before whom he was responsible for criminal conspiracy, relating to an alleged intermediation and influence conducted by the Reggio politician to guarantee the awarding of tenders.

The former regional councilor of Calabria was involved – albeit with a “minor” role – in an investigation by the Naples Prosecutor’s Office which had led to the arrest of the entrepreneur Salvatore Musella and Nicola Oddatiat the time of the events a member of the national leadership of the Democratic Party and director of the Campania Region, the former mayor of Pozzuoli and the former president of Enit.

Last February, the precautionary measure of the obligation to submit to the PG applied to Sebi Romeo had already been cancelled. The satisfaction of the lawyers Natale Polimeni and Giuseppe Camera was evident: “An acquittal from an unfounded accusation, the facts of which, already clear in themselves, were completely denied thanks to timely defense investigations and documentary production carried out by the defence. Justice found the right and proper space and the matter was immediately resolved”.
