The “Insid3 out” team of Crotone Pythagoras Classic High School wins the Europe Prize of the “At OpenCoesion School” Projectan innovative didactic path aimed atRomance and develop principles of active and conscious citizenshipthrough research and civic monitoring of public funding. A national initiative of Open Government, coordinated by the Department for Cohesion Policies and the Presidency of the Council of Ministers.

The award ceremony will be held on Saturday 9 May, on the occasion of the Feast of Europe, in Naples at the University Campus of San Giovanni a Teduccio. Subsequently, in Brussels, the students will meet the representatives of the European Commission to confront each other at the civic monitoring work created.

In this activity of active citizenship, strongly desired by the school manager Natascia senatorthe students, coordinated by the professor Rossella Frandinawere supported by the European Center for Gioiosa Jonica and, at national level, by Istat. The monitored project recently published on Monithon, the largest European independent civic monitoring platform, is “Realization of work-Experiences for subjects in a previous or current criminal measurement“. Programmer and beneficiary is the Calabria Region, the Jobel Consortium Impact.

At the design level, the most innovative aspect, carried out by the Jobel Consortium, consisted in being able to involve, in a recovery action, the third sector and the companies operating on the Calabrian territory by creating a model of social inclusion in which those who have finished serving the sentence have been able to compare themselves directly to the working reality and find their orientation in aware future choices. The students of Pythagoras told, through the techniques of the data journalism, the story of a possible change. That of Giovanni Bifezziformer prisoner and today custodian of Pitagora park. A very moving story that works as a warning. A story in three times. First the crime, then the arrest and life in prison. But there is also a fourth time, that of redemption. A time that becomes, in the creativity of young students, a story told through a cartoon. A story of women and men who fight for a culture of change by giving centrality to a job that becomes a concrete possibility to restore dignity to people and territories. It is a counterconing. Which starts from the south. It is a story of redemption. And the stories must be told.
