An argument that broke out for trivial reasons ended in blood in the late afternoon in the historic center of Crotone.
The episode took place between 6.00 pm and 6.30 pm in via Suriano, where the police stopped an Italian citizen and rescued a man of foreign nationality injured by a stabbed weapon.
The reconstruction
According to the initial investigations conducted by the Police, the basis of the attack was a quarrel which quickly degenerated: a verbal disagreement between the two men turned into a physical confrontation which ended with the weapon being pulled out and the man being injured.
The victim, a non-EU citizen, was hit in the hand in an attempt to defend himself.
The rescue and the arrest
The Suem 118 health workers provided initial treatment on site and then transferred the man to the emergency room of the civil hospital. The injuries reported are not serious.
The attacker was stopped almost immediately and transferred to the police station, where he is in custody. Investigators are collecting further testimonies to shed full light on what happened.
According to what some residents have reported, this is yet another episode of degradation and violence in the old quarter of the city.
The carabinieri and local police also intervened on site in support of the State Police.
