Reggina wins again, climbs to second place and continues its run-up to Siracusa (still at +3). A good Sant’Agata fell to the Granillo, protagonist of an excellent performance in which he had the opportunity to scare his most esteemed opponents. However, in the long run the greater quality of the amaranths made the difference and delivered a well-deserved victory to Trocini’s team. Sant’Agata had the first chance of the match, but Lagonigro did well to close the shot on a close-range shot from Manfrellotti. The match immediately seemed treacherous for the Amaranths, but in the 20th minute came the episode that put the match on hold for the home team.
Ragusa, launched deep by Barranco, was fouled by Nunzi in the area. Barillà showed up from the spot and made it 1-0. The advantage allowed Reggina to control the match, although not showing the brilliance of previous matches. At the start of the second half the Sicilians had the equalizer. Manfrellotti did well to go away on the left, perfect assist for Bova who only failed to hit the target in the area. Once the scare passed, Reggina closed the match.
First with the 2-0 scored by Renelus who somehow pushed the ball into the net, after a confusing move in the Sicilian area. Then with Barranco who scored the hat-trick with a nice first-time left-footed shot that went under the crossbar, taking advantage of a suggestion from the left by Porcino. An important victory for Reggina, which arrived in the always difficult situation of having to play three matches in seven days. A week in which seven points were won (between Scafatese, Castrumfavara and Sant’Agata), with many regrets for the direct clash played in Campania where there were the conditions to bring home a success that would have been fundamental. Sant’Agata, while waiting for reinforcements, can enjoy a test that can give new awareness to Raciti’s team.
