From Monday, municipal school transport for students of the City of Rosarno will start. This was announced yesterday morning by the Deputy Mayor with responsibility for school transport, Theodore De Maria, who promoted a meeting at Palazzo San John the Baptist to discuss and plan the school bus service with the Head of Public Education Dr. Concettina Colarco and the social worker Dr. Angelica Giovinazzo and professionals. The meeting highlighted the need for transportation for children who live in the outskirts of Rosarno.
For them, the Municipal Administration, led by the Mayor Pasquale Cutrithe Deputy Mayor with the heads of the relevant municipal offices have decided to activate a specific road route that allows children and adolescents to reach elementary and middle schools. The students will be picked up at a specific point near their homes and will be brought back to the same stop.
Furthermore, starting this year, every municipal bus will have assistants on board who will help each student get on the bus. In this regard, four units have been employed at present, who have been selected based on the lowest income and will be paid through the Puc. “We have managed to assign assistants on the buses,” said Forza Italia Deputy Mayor De Maria, “so the school-bus service will have a double social value, not only will it make it easier for many students living in extra-urban areas to reach schools, but it will also meet the different needs of the weakest groups in the area.”
