Ryanair celebrated 15 million passengers today at Lamezia Terme international airport, while launching the new route to Tiranawhich operates four weekly flights.
«Ryanair’s journey with Lamezia began in 2000 and since then – explains a note – the company has grown significantly, adding national and international connections and driving air traffic, providing jobs and supporting the growth of tourism, including thanks to the strategic decision of the Calabria Region to eliminate the municipal surcharge, thus allowing Ryanair to rapidly increase its capacity and exploit all the tourism potential of the region. Ryanair – we read further – has made huge investments in Lamezia, including the positioning of a company-based aircraft, which represents a total investment of $100m and supports over 1,100 jobs. Furthermore, Ryanair brings inbound tourism all year round to Lamezia by implementing a solid operation with more than 165 weekly flights (+27% compared to last winter) on 12 routes, including the new winter connections to Tirana and Brussels, together with an increase in frequencies to 7 existing popular destinations, offering citizens and visitors to Calabria an unbeatable choice at the lowest prices for their winter holidays”.
Ryanair’s schedule for winter 2024 in Lamezia foresees: an aircraft based in addition to a a new aircraft new aircraft based; 12 routes, including new ones towards Tirana and Brussels; over 1.5 million passengers per year; over 1,100 jobs.
