Wide participation, Monday evening, until late, in the blue house. All members of the centre-right were present and, for the most part, elected and registered with Forza Italia. Presiding over the proceedings at the Viale della Repubblica headquarters was Marco Ambrogio, the mayoral candidate resoundingly defeated by Antonio Barile in the run-off on 7 and 8 June. Once the hypothesis of mass resignations was over, as initially feared after the debacle, on Monday evening there was discussion on the changes to be made to the Forza Italia logo.
During the general discussion, the bitterness over the defeat was evident, since, many observed, “if the split vote theorem had not been applied, Ambrogio would have been mayor in the first round”. Behind the scenes, however, is the other explanation: “Evidently the candidate-mayor did not give the final tirade, in fact he totaled 1,407 votes less than the 10 lists.”
