The Council of State rejected with its ruling the appeal brought by the Municipality of Tortora, in the Cosentino area, on the integrated environmental authorization granted to Co.Gi.Fe Ambiente Srl for the activities of the hazardous and non-hazardous liquid waste purifier in the San Sago area.
With its appeal, structured into ten reasons, the Municipality asked to cancel the authorizations renewed in 2023 by the Ministry of the Environment and thanks to which the plant could return to activity after a long period of downtime.
The Council of State did not accept any of the 10 reasons, therefore rejecting the appeal, and compensating the legal costs between the parties. For the conclusion of the long-standing judicial matter, a further proceeding remains to be addressed, which is pending with the Commissioner for civic uses of Calabria.
