Reggina advances to the Serie D Italian Cup, obtaining qualification for the round of 16. The amaranths went on the road, beating Gelbison 3-1 in the match played at the Tenente Vaudano stadium in Capaccio.
A convincing performance by the Amaranths, who achieved the comeback victory by repeating the success obtained in the championship in Vibo on the day of Bruno Trocini’s return to the bench. The Campania team had taken the lead with a goal from Kosovan in the 23rd minute, who did well to score with an attempt from the edge of the penalty area.
Curiale equalized in the 34th minute, with a goal coming directly from a free kick. The free kick from the twenty-five meter attacker was masterful, going over the barrier and into the top corner.
From that moment another match began, with the Strait team raising the pressure on the opponent’s maneuver and becoming masters of the pitch.
In the second half the other two amaranth goals. The 2-1 was scored by Curiale, who did well to assert himself in the penalty area with a header at the far post triggered by a soft cross from Forciniti.
The 3-1, however, which arrived after the 90th minute was achieved by the very young Sturniolo (born in 2007) who was good at shooting deep and hitting the target with a shot underneath on the day of his first team debut.
Even with so many young players on the pitch, therefore, Reggina wins and convinces. In the next round, on December 4th, they will meet Enna who overcame Siracusa. Now, however, we have to think about the championship and Sunday’s match against Pompeii again.
