Shevchenko, the former AC Milan player who is Zelensky’s advisor

Ukrainian President Voldymyr Zelensky has appointed former footballer and coach Andriy Shevchenko as his freelance advisor. The decision was announced by presidential decree which appeared yesterday evening on the website of the Ukrainian presidency. In his career Shevchenko played for Dynamo Kiev, Chelsea and Milan. From 2016 to 2021 he was the coach of his country’s national team and was awarded the title of Hero of Ukraine.

“My role does not change, I am a freelance advisor and I will continue to do what I have always done: help my country, Ukraine, as much as I can”: said Shevchenko, before going onto the golf green for the All Star Match which ahead of the Ryder Cup, he comments to ANSA on his appointment as a freelance advisor to the president of Ukraine, Zelensky. The former Ukrainian striker is at Marco Simone in Guidonia where he will soon take part in the exhibition match, one of the events of the Ryder Cup.
