Jannik Sinner has decided to end his collaboration with Giacomo Naldi and Umberto Ferrara, respectively a physiotherapist and athletic trainer. The news comes a few days after the revelation that Sinner tested positive for a minimal amount of Clostebol during the Indian Wells tournament, a case from which he was cleared by Itia, which recognized the absence of malice. The incident was caused by involuntary contamination during a massage performed by Naldi, who had used an ointment provided to him by Ferrara.
Naldi and Ferrara, both from Bologna, had been working with Sinner since 2022, when they joined his team at the same time as the arrival of coaches Simone Vagnozzi and Darren Cahill. Sinner’s decision to part ways with the two professionals is likely linked to the accident, despite the significant contribution they both made to his physical preparation and recovery from injuries.
