Smoke on the Rome-Boston flight, emergency landing in Ireland

A Delta Airlines flight, traveling on the Rome Fiumicino-Boston route, with 294 people on board, made an emergency landing at Shannon Airport, Ireland, after smoke leaked on board. This was reported by the specialized website Aeroinside.com. The flight diversion to Shannon airport is also confirmed by the track on Flightradar24.

The plane – an Airbus A330-900 – landed safely, left the runway and taxied to a remote stand, where disembarkation began. Paramedics examined a passenger who reported feeling unwell. The rest of the flight was cancelled.
