This morning, the carabinieri of the Operations Department – Investigative Unit of the Provincial Command of Catanzaro have carried out a precautionary custody order issued by the investigating judge of the Court of Catanzaro, at the request of the District Anti-Mafia Directorate of Catanzaro, against Francesco Gualtieri (43 years old), investigated for double murder of Giuseppe Bruno and his wife Caterina Raimondiwhich occurred in Squillace on the evening of February 18, 2013.
The recipient of the measure is currently already detained (12 years in prison) for participation in the mafia-type criminal association in Roccelletta di Borgia.
The double murder occurred with the use of an AK47 – Kalashnikov “assault” rifle and would have occurred in the context of the conflicts that arose over the criminal control of the territory.
