Competitive table football returns to the shores of the Strait thanks to 1st “CT Rocco Polimeni” Trophy, a regional tournament valid for the 2023 Regions Trophy and organized by the Subbuteo Club Reggio Calabria. The event, held at the prestigious “Rocco Polimeni” tennis club in the Calabrian capital, was attended by 26 athletes from all over the region and also from nearby Sicily.
The title was won by Salvuccio Mandanici, as part of the Barcellona Calcio Tavolo team, a Sicilian team finalist in the last edition of the Champions League of this sporting discipline, lost in Eugies, Belgium, against the battleship of F.lli Bari Reggio Emilia. Mandanici, in the final, got the better of Massimo Avernabelonging to the local team of the Subbuteo Club Reggio Calabria, which seems to have returned to the levels of when, in 1983, it won the title of Italian Junior Champion in Montecatini Terme.
Furthermore, places of honor for Ernesto Gentile (AS Cosenza) e Alfredo Soria (CT Paola), both of whom stopped their run only in the semi-finals. Finally, in the Cadets draw, success for Bruno Bagnato (SC Reggio Calabria) who surpasses in the final Davide Lupo (CT Paola).
The president of the Italian Table Football Sports Federation and member of the Subbuteo Club Reggio Calabria, Pietro Ielapi:

Table football, or “subbuteo”, as perhaps many know it, needed the presence of the Reggio Calabria club. Its president, Nino Criserà, is doing an incredible job for the growth of the club by also organizing the table football school for kids who want to get closer to this beautiful sport. Other initiatives and tournaments are planned for the new year. To find out more, I invite everyone to follow the Club’s activities on social media>.
