Summary. The “Placcare la Violenza” project, promoted by the Roberta Lanzino Anti-Violence Center and by ASD Rugby Rende with the patronage of CSAIn, combines sport, prevention and awareness against gender violence, involving athletes, families, schools and institutions in a day of play, training and solidarity.

Sport, community and commitment against gender violence

The Roberta Lanzino Anti-Violence Center and ASD Rugby Rende, with the patronage of the sports promotion body CSAIn, launch the “Placcare la Violenza” project, an initiative that focuses on sport as a vehicle for education, respect and combating gender violence.

ASD Rugby Rende, active for over thirty years in the area, combines sporting practice with the promotion of the key values of rugby: unity, respect, friendship, inclusion and mutual support. In the wake of this tradition, the club has launched the Open Club, an open and inclusive space that acts as a permanent community laboratory, where training, sociality and education are intertwined to encourage participation and shared growth.

In this context, rugby becomes a tool for personal and collective development, capable of promoting positive relationships and creating alliances between families, schools and local communities.

The “Appease Violence” project and its objectives

The Roberta Lanzino Anti-Violence Centre, for years a point of reference in preventing and combating gender violence, offers psychological, legal and social support to women victims of violence and promotes awareness initiatives. The meeting with Rugby Rende gave life to “Placcare la Violenza”, a path that uses the universal language of sport to spread a culture of respect and gender equality.

The objectives of the initiative are multiple: to give greater visibility to the message and work of the Lanzino Center, to build a support network in the local sports world, to actively involve male and female athletes, families and children of Rugby Rende in awareness-raising, training and testimony actions.

The project also involves the creation of shared events that combine sport, education and solidarity, with the prospect of creating a network of ethical and responsible sponsors ready to support and spread the values of the initiative.

The project launches on December 14th

The official launch of “Placcare la Violenza” is scheduled for December 14th at Campo Rugby Rende. The morning will open at 10.30 am with an illustration of the project, in the presence of the institutions, representatives of the associations involved and the press.
