The Municipality of Messina completes the first phase of the support package for the local productive fabric financed with the PN Metro Plus and Città Medie Sud 2021-2027 funds. With two separate management measures signed today (n. 309 and n. 312), the Business Services Department has approved the provisional rankings relating to the public notices “Impresa.NET” and “MadeInME”.

The operation injects non-repayable resources into the city’s economic system for a total of 4,301,438.53 euros, intended to support both historical activities and new startups. “Today we keep an important promise made to the city”, declares Mayor Federico Basile. “We are not talking about projects on paper, but about 4.3 million euros which will actually reach almost one hundred Messina businesses. We wanted to support two souls of our economy: on the one hand the drive towards the future and digitalisation with Impresa.NET, on the other the valorisation of our roots, craftsmanship and agri-food with MadeInME. It is the demonstration that the Administration works to create real opportunities for development and employment, inserting this funding into an overall vision that accompanies the entrepreneur to 360 degrees”.

The Councilor for Productive Activities Massimo Finocchiaro goes into detail about the results: “The offices have carried out extensive verification work on hundreds of requests to achieve this result in a certain timeframe. With today’s approval we are immediately financing 96 entrepreneurial activities, including existing and new ones”. Specifically, the resources assigned are divided as follows: for the “Impresa.NET” Project (Digitalisation) funds for a total of 2,510,167.74 euros were allocated.

The resources will finance 56 businesses: o 41 businesses already established, for an amount of €1,815,146.88; o 15 new startups (being established), for an amount of €695,020.86. For the “MadeInME” Project (Crafts and Agri-Food) funds have been allocated for a total of 1,791,270.79 euros.

The resources will go to finance 40 businesses: o 35 businesses already established, for an amount of €1,568,534.79; o 5 new startups (being established), for an amount of €222,736.00. These two lines of financing are not isolated interventions, but fundamental pieces of a four-year program (2025-2028) launched by the Municipal Administration to support trade and tourism. “In addition to the provision of non-repayable liquidity”, underline Basile and Finocchiaro, “the Municipality’s commitment continues through a package of reliefs and incentives already planned to reduce the fixed costs of businesses”.

The support measures plan includes:

• TARI reduction of 15% for the trade and tourism categories for the years 2026, 2027 and 2028;

• 50% reduction in public land rent and market rent until 2028; • 100% reduction in the Integrated Water Service for commercial and hospitality activities for the three-year period 2026-2028;

• Total free interchange parking for the years 2025, 2026, 2027 and 2028.

The Administration’s action does not stop here: in the coming months new public notices will be published to allocate the remaining resources of the PN Metro Plus program to other strategic categories, thus guaranteeing widespread coverage of the city’s productive fabric.

“The rankings approved today are provisional pending the latest technical checks on external bodies, but the funds are committed and ready to be disbursed to eligible beneficiaries”, concludes the Councilor. Management decisions n. 309 (MadeInME) and n. 312 (Impresa.NET) containing the rankings of those admitted and the lists of those excluded are published from today on the online Notice Board and on the institutional website of the Municipality of Messina.
