The “beats” of the Court of Auditors to the Municipality of Lamezia: the Murone Council now takes action

The municipal administration announces a change in the budget in response to the observations of the Court of Auditors which had expressed its opinion in view of the presentation of the consolidated financial statement approved by the civic assembly a few days ago.
Yesterday afternoon, in the Luisi room, the mayor Mario Murone, flanked by all the councilors of his council, met with journalists to illustrate a new financial maneuver that the institution intends to carry out. This is because a portion of the deficit amounting to 893 thousand euros was not repaid in 2023; while for the 2024 financial year the budget settlement of approximately 3 million euros is missing. Consequently, for the two-year period 2023-24 it is necessary to repay approximately 4.2 million euros. At the press conference it was recalled that, already in August, a provision had been approved to cover 7 million euros of deficit over the three-year period. In practice, the requests from the Court of Auditors in October will be repaid in 2026-2027.
