Ivan Perri, an engineering student from Cosenza at the University of Calabria, who has just graduated, has chosen to transform a personal goal into a gesture of concrete solidarity. To celebrate the result achieved, Perri decided to allocate a large sum of money to the La Terra di Piero association, which has been involved for years in charitable activities in Cosenza and in territories particularly affected by social and economic difficulties, such as some areas of Africa.
The donation and the project in Kenya
The check was delivered to Sergio Crocco, the association’s key figure, and will be used to support the creation of a solidarity project: the Annarita Park, a project that will be built in Kenya as part of the initiatives promoted by La Terra di Piero.
An intervention that falls within the commitment of the association, active both in the Cosenza area and abroad, with the aim of offering spaces, services and opportunities to communities living in conditions of great hardship.
«The best way to celebrate»
«It’s the best way to celebrate my graduation», declared Ivan Perri, explaining the meaning of his choice. A gesture that combines the value of study and training with that of solidarity, transforming a moment of personal joy into a concrete contribution in favor of those who are most fragile.
An example of how an academic goal can also become an opportunity to look beyond oneself and invest in a shared future, in the name of social commitment.
