They had to put the balls in the basket, roll up the net and put the knee pads in the dressers of the house. Because their ‘world’ suddenly stopped. What they live and fight for on a weekly basis – the passion for volleyball – currently no longer exists. There GM Volleyball, a solid reality of Cosenza volleyball – is stuck at a standstill due to the lack of facilities where it can train and play matches. A movement you can count on 130 membersled by the sports director professor Antonio Gradilone (at the same time he is responsible for the youth sector together with Annamaria Tarsia), with president Alexandra Gradilone. And which at the moment is made up of… nomads – waiting for someone to give them an audience after, due to the renovation and seismic adaptation works of the gym Brutium Scientific Technical Centre – who lost their headquarters. «In recent years, with the project which involved the students of the school in the morning (and in the afternoon it is open to the whole territory), we have managed to bring many young people closer to practicing sports by involving them in participating in all the youth championships which culminated in last year with 6th place at the Acli National Finals in Cesenatico”, says Gradilone. «At present our participation in all these championships is at risk. With the hope of being able to find a new plant as soon as possible.” The problem concerns not only the youth sector, but also the first team that plays in the Serie C championship.
