The Regional Assembly of the Democratic Party, gathered in Lamezia Terme, ratified the election of Senator Irto Nicola Into this morning as a regional party secretary. During the works, the Assembly unanimously approved the new regional direction – proposed by Irto himself – and proceeded to the election of the Regional Guarantee Commission and the Treasurer.
At the meeting they took part, among others, Anna Laura Orrico of the 5 Star Movement e Mimmo Pignataro of the Green and Left Alliance, as well as Alessia Alboresi of Europe green e Giuseppe De Nisi of action, for Italy Viva intervened Filomena Grecowhile the Socialist Party was represented by Luigi Incarnato. Also intervened Doris Lo Moro, Candidate for mayor to Lamezia Terme, who relaunched the commitment to the ballot of 8 and 9 June, for which all the political representatives of the coalition reiterated full support. In addition, there was a unitary appeal for the “yes” to the five referendum questions.
“It is essential to consolidate and expand our coalition – said Irto – also in view of the next regional elections and political elections, to guarantee Calabria and Italy a government of change”. Irto also invited everyone to participate in the national event in support of the Palestinian population. To symbolize this civil and solidarity commitment, at the presidency table, alongside the flag of the Democratic Party, the flag of Palestine was also exhibited. This choice highlights the attention of the Calabrian Democrats not only to internal issues, but also to international and humanitarian issues.
