The municipal administration of Crotone continues to invest in “beauty”. This morning, the new work that will be created by the artist was presented in the council chamber “Falcone and Borsellino” Giovanni Arone. It is the “Pythagorean Krotoniate” a statue that as the artist said in his conception has a look in the past and the other projected into the future. To present the initiative the mayor Vincenzo Vocethe deputy mayor Sandro Cretellathe Councilor for Tourism Giovanna Lamanna And Giovanni Arone himself.
The work, which the administration intends to place on the promenade after the appropriate conferences of services with the other bodies in charge, recalls symbols of a strong identity character of the city and in particular of the Pitagora philosophical school. The three symbols in particular are: the Greek helmet helmet, typically Greek battle that will recall the myth of the foundation of ancient Kroton. The artistic message thus also assumes a social value because it recalls the people who founded the city. The other symbol is the TreTrattys Pythagorean, one of the Pythagorean symbols par excellence which includes not only the numerical series but also infinite creative possibilities. And still the mathematical symbol of infinity that represents the symmetry and balance of all things. The work will consist of three materials: gold, black zimbabwe granite and Carrara white marble. It is 2.90 m high in addition to the base of one meter.
The Councilor for Tourism Lamanna highlighted how the works that are being made not only enrich the neighborhoods but become real tourist attractors.
“With the new artistic installations, between statues and street art works, we are transforming our city into a real open -air museum. Art comes out of traditional borders to meet citizens and visitors in the streets, squares and neighborhoods, helping to enhance our urban heritage and strengthen the cultural identity of the community” said vice mayor Cretella
“With this further intervention, the administration confirms its commitment to investing in beauty as a public value. We believe that art and urban decor are not accessories, but a foundation of civil life. Making our city more beautiful means making it more alive, more welcoming and more aware of its roots” said the mayor.
