It is not known from which members of the minority the 2 votes for the Italian Salvatore Cirillo arrived in addition to the 21 expected by the majority. Tracing their identity is a risky exercise. They certainly represent an important opening of credit towards those who were elected to lead the highest Calabrian elective assembly. The youngest among the elected councilors will have the burden (and honor) of ensuring balance in the Chamber where several new faces have appeared.
The surprise, compared to the predictions of the day before, is the election of Giacomo Crinò (Occhiuto President) as vice-presidency, despite the fact that in the days preceding the inaugural session the reconfirmation of Pierluigi Caputo in that role was taken for granted by many. The latter will have to “settle” for the role of group leader: a more political than institutional position for what is considered the most faithful guardian of the orthodoxy professed by governor Occhiuto.
The spotlight is also on the center-left’s home.
