A hilarious comedy that reads the daily newspaper in a paradoxical way in “I Don’t Know What to Do First”, Uccio De Santis’ Show produced by Ventidieci which is successfully touring Italy and will land tomorrow (9.15pm) at the Coral Garden.

With his trusty travelling companions Umberto Sardella, Antonella Genga and Giacinto Lucariello, the comedian from Puglia will offer two hours of fun show with sketches, monologues, jokes and music, in the spirit of the Made in Sud humour of “Mudù”, the cult programme on Telenorba and Teledue, also broadcast on RTPwhich established De Santis (author of the show with his brother Antonio) and his group among the aces of Italian comedy, thanks to the brilliant intuition of making jokes the subject of short video stories. From summer sales to shopping at the mall, to the fight between husband and wife for a little space in the closet, the group of southern comedians portrays with irony everyone’s daily life, making it the subject of wholesome entertainment.

What should the Corallo audience expect?
“Everything and more. There will be room for improvisation and the inevitable sketch about the carabinieri which, since they are jokes, cannot be missed; up to the man-woman relationship in a theatrical frame that portrays the life of a couple in different phases: newly married and after five, ten and fifteen years of marriage. All pictures on everyday life, which are better”.

The show is in fact a theatrical continuation of “Mudù”, which is repeating its television success on social media, where all the sketches have been uploaded…
“Social media has made us popular. The possibility of being with the public through the web has allowed us to do evenings outside Puglia, reaching even Germany and Canada, where we will return with dates. We will also be in the United States, in Chicago. This confirms the ability of social media to embrace a very large audience, even beyond the borders”.

“Mudù” revolutionized comedy for the style and visual representation of jokes…
“We have turned the joke into a real film, with videos of seven or eight minutes, so much so that we could almost call it a feature film and not a short. Many times you read the classic incipit “Two friends meet” in books, but no one thinks of having them meet at a bar, on a ship, on a desert island. Filming our jokes allows us to make comedy while also highlighting the locations that host us.”

In this regard we know that in the fall you will be filming in Sicily. Any previews?
«We will make new videos of “Mudù” in the Aeolian Islands in September, thanks to the contacts made when I received the Troisi Award. Also in this case we will immortalize with our simple comedy a location of extraordinary beauty like the Islands. We will also film in Scicli and Modica, for four days, for a total of three trips in Sicily between September and December».

Your videos bring a humor typical of Puglia and the whole South. How effective is it?
“Being direct, with the joke that comes immediately and turns out to be a winner. The best moments come from spontaneity and improvisation. I’ve never seen people laugh so much at an improvised joke compared to one already written.”
