The Criminal Chamber of Cosenza has been for months the refinery of a convinced thought on the change of the judicial system in Italy. A project to be built together, through discussion. And with a president, Roberto Le Pera, committed to leading the reformist front. His passion and courage have made him famous throughout Italy, making him one of the most recognizable faces of a lawyer who has chosen to openly compete with the judiciary. His warning (“Out of the CSM busy with your currents”) spread across social media and hit the main national newspapers. Within this trajectory, the objective was clear: to shorten the distance with the prosecutors, who have always been perceived as too close to the judges. A close bond, capable of damaging the idea of ”fair trial” to the point of bending it into the less balanced version of the “adversarial trial”.
