The Meloni government is now the third longest in the history of the Republic. With 1,093 days of duration from the swearing-in, 22 October 2022, it equals the duration of the Craxi government (4 August 1983-1st August 1986).
In the first two places are two of the four Berlusconi governments: Berlusconi II has the record for duration with 1,412 days in office (11 June 2001 – 23 April 2005) followed by Berlusconi IV and last with 1,287 days (8 May 2008 – 16 November 2011).
On the podium of longevity in the almost 80 years since the Republic there are therefore all centre-right governments, while the executive presided over by an exponent of the centre-left with the longest life is in fifth place the Renzi government (22 February 2014 – 12 December 2016) with 1,024 days. Meloni is also ninth in the ranking of Prime Ministers by duration of office between various governments led by Berlusconi with 3,339 days, followed by Andreotti (2,219), De Gasperi (2,458), Moro (2,279), Fanfani (1,659), Prodi (1,608), Craxi (1,353) and Rumor (1,104).
