A question to the President of the Region and Commissioner of Health, Roberto Occhiuto, and the request for the convening of the ASP managers in the third Commission of the Regional Council: these are the two initiatives that the PD group in the Region announced and presented yesterday with reference to the topic of securitization of the credits of some Asp.
The initiatives, illustrated in a press conference of the PD group at the party headquarters in Lamezia Terme, essentially start from the story of million-dollar transactions – for a total of 77 million – carried out by the Asp of Cosenza with Bff Bankalready at the center of a parliamentary question in the past by the senator and regional secretary of the Democratic Party, Nicola Irto, and also addressed by the weekly “L’Espresso”, which dedicated the cover of the front page of the latest issue to her. «There is a need – observed the leader of the Democratic Party to the Region, Domenico Bevacqua – to provide absolute clarity on the reasons why we arrived at these million-dollar transactions made by Asp of Cosenza and Reggio and also Crotonea matter which is already the subject of an investigation by the Milan Prosecutor’s Office. Obviously we don’t want to intervene in the investigation because we are guaranteeists and we don’t want to condemn anyone, but as Calabrians we ask for transparency and for this reason we will propose to convene the leaders of the ASPs involved and also the manager of Azienda Zero in the next Health commission, Gandolfo Miserendino, so that citizens’ doubts about the management of public funds intended for healthcare are also answered. Furthermore – continued Bevacqua – we will shortly present a question to the President of the Region to find out if he is aware of these operations, if he agrees with them and if he can say what the Calabrians and the ASP budgets gain from it. We need clarity because we are worried and our duty is also to be vigilant.”
