The IV edition of the Finc – Nouveau Clown International Festivalis scheduled From 27 to 29 June and from 4 to 6 July 2025 in Giardini Naxoswith most shows at the Nike Theater in the Archaeological Park of Naxos. On stage some of the most acclaimed protagonists of comedy without words internationally:
David Laribleuniversally considered “the clown of the clowns”, won the golden clown in Montecarlo and has trodden prestigious stages all over the world;
Gardi Hutterpioneer of the female theatrical clown, has been traveling the world since 1981, reaching over 4400 representations in 44 countries and winning 18 renowned prizes;
Paolo Naniauthor of the famous “The letter”, considered a real international cult of physical theater;
Anatoli Akermanclown and physical actor acclaimed worldwide, was part of the cast of Kà and Zed of the Cirque du Soleil and played a clown in Tim Burton’s film “Dumbo” for Disney.
The exhibition on the Clown Grock will be visited at the Naxos Archaeological Park, called “the largest clown in the world” with over 30 panels that tell 250 years of clown history in the circus. The exhibition is set up in collaboration with the Cedac of Verona, the educational center of documentation of the circus arts.
Within the section dedicated to talk, the Festival offers the public and experts moments of historical and theoretical reflection on the art of the clown in collaboration with Prof. Dario Tomasello, teaching teacher at the University of Messina, where he coordinates the Dams and founded the international center of studies on the performance of the arts and social imagination (university). Among the guests the Professor Alessandro Serena – Professor of the history of the circus and street show at the University of Milan, Elena Vladimirovna Petrikova – expert of the Russian school, Antonio Giarola, director and president of the Cedac (Educational Center for Documentation of the Circus Arts)
In addition to a workshop for professionals conducted by David Lariblethe program also includes a laboratory dedicated to children conducted by the Spanish artist and theater director Oscar Vidal. An opportunity to approach the world of clown through body language and creativity, in an atmosphere of fun and discovery. Born in 2022 from an idea of the artists Dandy damage and diva G, the Finc aims to enhance the contemporary clown, in its poetic, ironic and inclusive dimension, and to bring new spectators closer – in particular families and young people – to the world of contemporary circus and live entertainment. The event is made with the support of the Archaeological Park of Naxos – Taormina, of the Municipality of Giardini Naxos, in collaboration with local realities and with the Théâtre Grrranit – Scène National de Belfort (France). The Ministry of Culture recognizes the FIN as a contemporary circus festival of particular national interest.
