The push for a new political center comes from the urban area of ​​Cosenza

The initiative starts from the Urban Area of ​​Cosenza, a true novelty in the political panorama, of a group of historical observers and committed politicians belonging to the Center or the Centre-right and the Catholic Area: Eraldo Rizzuti (“Freedom is Democracy”), Massimo Lenti, Domenico Caruso Frezza and Carlo Rinaldo (“Free Will”). With the Center increasingly pre-eminent given the progressive moderation of the politics of the right-wing parties. The need arises from the evident and long-standing discrepancy between the political linearity of the national and regional governments of the Center and Center Right, with well-defined alignments with parties, political forces and individuals who coherently stand together, and, on the contrary, the confusion and inconsistency when it comes to competing and then managing the Municipalities. At a local level, different choices are increasingly made with respect to party affiliation, resulting in the inclusion of subjects functional to Center and Center Right parties and forces on the left-wing lists first and then on the municipal councils. But also to the inclusion in the Center and Centre-right lists of candidates who are left-wing or who jump here and there to join the winning side. With choices made without involving the political and social action of the representatives of the territory who have always supported these principles and values. This usual and anomalous municipal characteristic, metabolised by each of us for years, has led us to become disaffected with local electoral competitions. And, from today, with this group, we will take action. The good results of the national (Meloni), regional (Occhiuto) and Cosenza Province (Succurro) governments are there for all to see and we feel proud to belong to this group that we have supported and will continue to support with conviction at supra-municipal levels. But as far as local choices are concerned, we do not understand and therefore have not shared the state of things for some time. And we remain free not to share choices that may conflict with the national and regional line or that will be made without involving the historians of this area. This initiative belongs to some people from the Urban Area of ​​Cosenza but extends to all those who, at a local, provincial, regional and national level, want to join, young and old, even if from other parties, who want to decide to embrace this real political innovation.
