“Dear guys, I watched with great amazement and admiration the video you created as part of the national competition: ‘1941 The Ventotene Manifesto for a free and united Europe – 2023 European citizenship on the path towards building peaceful coexistence between the peoples’ and I am extremely proud of the great success you have achieved, ranking first at a national level among secondary schools. I want to congratulate you, not only because you managed to clearly and completely represent a profound and complex topic, apparently far from everyday life, but above all because you did so using an effective and immediate communication technique and presentation, managing to completely capture the attention – and also the curiosity – of the viewer and, above all, to make him aware of the roots (also Italian) of our European Union”.

With these words the vice-president of the Calabria regional council with responsibility for the branch, Giusi Princi, addresses the students of class 4C of the “Bernardino Telesio” Classical High School in Cosenza in a letter addressed to them to express congratulations for the great result achieved: the boys in fact ranked first at a national level in the “1941 The Ventotene Manifesto for a free and united Europe – 2023 European citizenship on the path towards building peaceful coexistence between peoples” competition.

“I also want to thank the head teacher Domenico De Lucathe teachers and collaborators who guided and coordinated you in this project, in particular the teachers Barbara Marchio And Francesca Costanzo, because they have allowed you to approach in a different, dynamic and interested way, issues that are not exclusively scholastic but which become very topical and which are fundamental in your personal and human training and growth (even before scholastic) allowing you to become citizens aware of your European and democratic roots. I take this opportunity to invite you to visit the regional Citadel, to get to know you and to be able to personally congratulate you, for the great commitment and great determination that you have demonstrated and for having expressed, at its best, our beloved Calabria, which, together to President Occhiuto and to the entire Council, we want it to be increasingly represented by the cultural liveliness and talent of you young people”, concludes the letter by Vice President Princi.
