Difficult night in Calabria due to strong winds, with gusts that in some cases exceeded 100 kilometers per hour. The provinces of Catanzaro and Cosenza were particularly affected. The most critical situation was in Rossano, where the gusts knocked down a large pine tree in the historic center of the municipality, requiring the intervention of the firefighters, who went into action around 4 in the morning. Problems also in Cosenza city, where firefighters intervened several times. Here too the wind, in addition to uprooting some plants and advertising billboards, tore off the roof of a house. Fortunately, in addition to the damage, no injuries were reported.
In Catanzaro, the wind broke a tree next to the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception in the city centre. This morning the weather conditions are improving and the wind has also returned to normal.
