Second sprint success for Jasper Philpsen on the roads of the 2024 Tour de France. The 26-year-old Belgian rider from the Alpecin-Deceuninck team, already a winner at the finish line in Saint Amand Montrond, also won the 13th stage, the 163.5-kilometer Agen-Pau. In a long sprint characterized by a huge fall 700 meters from the white line, Philipsen preceded his compatriot Wout Van Aert (Team Visma Lease a Bike) and the German Pascal Ackermann (Israel-Premier Tech). Ninth place for the Slovenian Tadej Pogacar (Uae Emirates), who maintains the yellow jersey of leader of the general classification. The Slovenian Primoz Roglic (Red Bull-Bora-Hansgrohe) did not start, having fallen yesterday, while the Spaniard Juan Ayuso, one of Pogacar’s lieutenants, was forced to withdraw because he was weakened by Covid. The weekend in the Pyrenees begins tomorrow with the 14th stage, the Pau-Saint Lary Soulan (Pla d’Adet) of 161.9 kilometers.
