Donald Trump declared at the White House, during a meeting with the main world oil companies, that the United States will decide which companies will be able to work in Venezuela as part of future activities linked to the South American country’s oil industry.

The US president also referred to the international reactions to the recent military operation in Caracas for the capture of Nicolás Maduro, stating that numerous foreign leaders have contacted him to express their shock at what happened, although without naming specific names.

Meeting with the top management of oil companies

During the meeting at the White House with the CEOs of the main oil companies, including Eni, Trump underlined that «now in Venezuela you have total security», confirming the US administration’s willingness to supervise investment opportunities in Venezuela’s energy sector. The meeting is part of a broader initiative to explore possible investments and the reconstruction of Venezuela’s oil industry, after years of decline and international sanctions. Important operators in the sector and representatives of the US administration participate, with the aim of stimulating production and creating new commercial opportunities.

The position of China and Russia

«China and Russia can buy oil» from the United States. Donald Trump said this during the meeting with the oil companies at the White House. “We are ready to do business,” the American president said again.

The warning to Greenland

Donald Trump insists the US will take Greenland “by hook or by crook”. “We don’t want China or Russia as neighbors,” he added. “I’m not talking about money for Greenland at the moment, but I could. We will do something whether they like it or not, because if we don’t do it Russia or China will take control,” he said, adding that he was a “big fan of Denmark.”
