A hit-and-run driver hit an Indian citizen without helping him, leaving him on the asphalt. The latest road accident occurred on Thursday evening, around 11:00 p.m., in Sibari on Viale Magna Grecia. An Indian citizen was hit by a car along State Road 106 that did not stop to provide assistance after the incident. The man, who had gotten out of a broken-down van with other workmates, was hit by an unidentified vehicle that sped away.

The man was urgently transferred to the emergency room “Giannettasio” in Corigliano-Rossano, his condition remains critical. The 118 paramedics of the Pet of Cassano center intervened on the spot. The Carabinieri of the local company are investigating the case. Their task is to clarify the dynamics and track down the person responsible for the accident.

Captain Michele Ornelli’s soldiers are working to reconstruct another accident that also occurred in Sibari yesterday morning. An accident that could have become a real tragedy. It was around eight in the morning when a car, coming from the area of the service center, was about to enter the Provincial Sibari-Lauropoli, the main artery that connects the coast and the popular tourist village to Cassano center, when it collided – for reasons still being ascertained – with a large-engined motorcycle. The motorcyclist crashed into the car, ending up on the ground and suffering several bruises. For him, as for the woman driving the Lancia Ypsilon, only a lot of fear and nothing serious. An impact that could have been devastating but which assumed a minor severity because it occurred in a stretch where the Provincial enters the center of town. The Lauropoli-Sibari was closed for a few hours both to allow for rescue operations and for the usual checks.
