Two landings of migrants today in Calabria, one in Roccella Ionica and the other in Crotone, with the arrival of a total of 125 people. In both cases the migrants were rescued by the Coast Guard.
84 arrived in Roccella, of Iranian and Iraqi nationality, 48 men, 19 women and 17 minors, some of them unaccompanied. Among them also two disabled people with walking difficulties. The group was intercepted offshore while traveling aboard a sailing boat that left six days ago from an unspecified location in Türkiye.
As regards the landing in Crotone, the migrants who arrived were 41. They were 35 adults, thirty men and five women, and six minors, five of whom were unaccompaniedall of Afghan, Pakistani and Iranian nationality. The migrants, with the coordination of the Prefecture and the management of the immigration office of the Police Headquarters, were disembarked and, after the first health checks, transferred to the reception center of Isola Capo Rizzuto.
