Vibo, Costa degli Dei Consortium: opportunity or “bandwagon”?

The next city council will also include the appointment of representatives of the Municipality within the assembly of the “Costa degli Dei” consortium. We return, therefore, to talk about the consortium that never took off, a moral body designed for the development of the Vibo coastal area but which has so far remained a dead letter. The body, which involves the 9 marine municipalities (Vibo, Pizzo, Briatico, Zambrone, Parghelia, Tropea, Ricadi, Nicotera and Joppolo) and enjoys an allocation of 150 thousand euros per year from the Region, will it ever become reality or will it will it transform into yet another useless bandwagon dragged along with difficulty? Currently everything seems to be dormant in an intricate story of start and stop (many stops and few starts). The last hitch – as revealed by practically all the bodies involved – was due to the administration of the Municipality of Tropea, one of the main entities belonging to the consortium. THEThe situation that arose in Tropea has, in fact, prevented the convening of the meeting aimed at approving the statute and appointing the president of the consortium. But can the administration of a municipality represent such a significant obstacle for the project? Assuming and not granting that this is the case, according to the duration of the commissionership (at least until October 2025, with the possibility of extension) the consortium will have to remain on standby for another year, perhaps even more. Is this permissible?
