Vibo, the young Matteo Mazzitelli didn’t make it. On Sunday he was the victim of a motocross accident in Gioia Tauro

Last Sunday he went to train on the motocross track in Gioia Tauro. A Sunday like many others, riding that motorbike he loved. Then at a certain point the fall and the serious accident that caused serious injuries to Matteo Mazzitelli, a 22-year-old from Vibo Marina.

Urgently transported to the Gom in Reggio Calabria, his condition immediately appeared critical with a very serious head injury. Today the confirmation of brain death for the young man loved by the Vibo community, but also by that of nearby Briatico (his parents’ country of origin). Two communities, the one from Vibo and Briatico, which immediately rallied around the family with many prayer messages also on social media (a torchlight procession of prayer had been promoted in Briatico for this evening). The young man’s family members have expressed their willingness to donate his organs. The young man’s funeral will be held tomorrow, Friday 8 November at 3.30 pm, in the parish church Maria Santissima del Rosario in Vibo Marina.
