Change of council group for Marcella Mellea, which formalizes its entry into the group of the Democratic Party to the Municipality of Vibo Valentia. A choice motivated by the desire to strengthen the progressive area and contribute more incisively to the administrative action led by the mayor Enzo Romeo, supported by the majority of the center -left.
«I supported the candidacy for mayor of Enzo Romeo from the first moment, with enthusiasm and conviction, sharing their program and vision. In the council majority that supports him, I recognize myself responsibly, in the awareness that it is necessary to work, with serenity and commitment, for the common good of our city.
My commitment and my democratic participation in city political life are oriented towards the strengthening of that progressive area which, after 15 years, finally has the opportunity to administer the city again. Opportunity that cannot be wasted.
To this end, I can only welcome the invitation of the Democratic Party – a party in which I also see myself at national level, sharing the positions, and to which I had already made formal request for registration – to adhere also to the council group of the party itself, as per the internal regulations of the party itself.
I recently left the “Vibo Project” group in search of new stimuli through party participation, with the aim of being able to play my role as a city councilor more effectively. I had embraced the new group of democrats and progressive in the belief of joining a group of direct expression of the Democratic Party.
My thanks go to them, with the wish that they can contribute to the strengthening of this majority, which has the heavy task of raising the fate of the city. My decisions regarding the enrollment in the party have already been communicated to the regional secretary of the Democratic Party, the provincial secretary and, as regards the adhesion to the group in the City Council, the group leader of the Democratic Party and the President of the City Council, to formalize my transition to the PD group “.
