The last maneuver of Labor decree introduces a protection measure for particularly vulnerable families: theInclusion Allowance (ADI). This support is aimed at families with at least one member who is a minor, a senior over 60, disabled or at a serious social disadvantage, monitored by social and health services.

How does ADI work?
L’ADI, established with law no. 85/2023, is economic support conditioned on active participation in social and work inclusion paths. These paths are built ad hoc to meet the specific needs of each nucleus. Beneficiary families may be asked to engage in activities related to family care, training, work, or projects of collective benefit.

What is ADI?
It is personalized economic support based on the specific condition of the family unit, accompanied by a social and work inclusion project.
Since when?
The ADI will be available from 1 January 2024. Applications can be submitted online or through support bodies such as patronages and CAFs.

Requirements for the Inclusion Allowance
To access the ADI, families must satisfy specific citizenship, residence and residence requirements, as well as demonstrate a congruent economic and financial situation. Active and conscious participation in the proposed social and work inclusion paths is necessary.
Additional Conditions
Access to the ADI is also conditioned by compliance with certain behavioral and situational conditions, such as the absence of recent criminal convictions or significant changes in the composition of the family unit.
Who is considered to be at a disadvantage?
The decree specifies different categories of individuals considered to be at a disadvantage, including those receiving services for mental disorders, disabilities, addictions, victims of violence and others.
Protection for Victims of Gender Violence
The ADI also acts as a support and accompaniment tool for victims of gender violence, facilitating access to the benefit by taking care of them from specialized centers or social services.
Impact of Starting a Job
The start of a work activity by the members of the family does not automatically exclude them from the benefit, but requires timely communication and can influence the amount of the allowance received.
