Agent attacked in the Reggio Calabria prison. A prisoner of Campania origins violently attacked an agent in service in the “San Pietro” prison in Reggio Calabria in the afternoon of today, hitting him with punches and kicks in the face. According to reports from the Sappe union, the aggression took place in the “Maximum Security” section by a detainee of Campania origins.
The injured agent, hospitalized in the emergency room of the large metropolitan hospital for the case, would have denounced a prisoner in recent days that tried to corrupt it to introduce cell phones in prison. For Giovanni Battista Durante, General Secretary General of Sappe and Francesco Ciccone, regional secretary, “it is a very serious episode, for which we ask that immediate disciplinary initiatives against the prisoner are taken, with the immediate transfer to another region”.
