On the occasion of the transit of the “Giro Next Gen 2026” cycling event, temporary measures will be adopted to regulate traffic along the roads involved, in order to guarantee the safety of athletes, race staff and road users.
On the days affected by the passage of the competition, the road sections and related intersections will be temporarily closed to traffic for the time strictly necessary for the transit of the caravan.
Calendar and details of restrictions Monday 15 June
-12.30pm: Closure of the Bellafemmina roundabout – SS 18 towards Pizzo.
-1.30pm: Closure of the section between the SS 18 (height of Q8 petrol station) and the SP 110 up to the Palazzo junction.
-1.40pm: Closure of the section between the Palazzo junction, the SP 170/1, the SP 170/2 and the SP 168/1; closure of the SS 280 towards Catanzaro at the Sarrottino junction with mandatory exit on an alternative route. Simultaneous closure of the deceleration ramps of the SS 280 junctions of Lamezia Sud, Lamezia Est, Marcellinara and Settingiano, in both directions, and of Sarrottino and Vena di Maida in the direction of Lamezia Terme.
-2.00 pm: Closed to transit of heavy vehicles (mass >3.5 tons) along the SS 106 “Jonica” in the stretch between km 250.400 and km 214.000. The closure will remain active until 4.30 pm, with temporary parking sites planned in Passovecchio km 252 ex SS 106 – SP 57 km 00.800 municipal road junction of via Mercalli.
-2.20pm: Closure of the section between the SS 280 dir, the SS 106 var/A, the SP 16 and the SS 106 (Coluccio roundabout).
-2.30 pm: Closure of the SS 106 up to Steccato di Cutro (exchange point with Crotone).
-2.40pm: Closure of the SS 106 between Steccato di Cutro and Crotone (North overpass exit).
