The firefighters of the Messina Command intervened this morning, around 5.30 am, to put out a fire that broke out inside a naval warehouse/workshop located in the Porto Levante area, on the island of Vulcano. Rescue workers managed to contain and extinguish the flames, preventing them from spreading to adjacent structures. After the extinguishing and subsequent clean-up operations, aimed at making the area safe and avoiding the risk of new outbreaks, the firefighters returned to the barracks around 1pm. Fortunately, the fire did not cause any injuries. The causes that sparked the fire are under investigation.
