Von der Leyen recalls that last week EU funding for Patriot systems was approved, through the loan to support Ukraine. “But it is clear that more needs to be done,” he adds.
“That’s why I announced that we were ready to use the remaining funds from the Safe program to launch a new program dedicated to joint defense projects between the EU and Ukraine,” he concludes.
