The progress of ACR Messina Futsal, after six days of the Serie A2 Elite 5-a-side football championship, can be considered satisfactory and in line with the initial planning. Seventh place in the standings with 8 points, the result of two wins, two draws and two defeats. Thanks to the agreement of the historic group – dating back to the times of Pgs Luce, with Fabrizio Caratozzolo in command – and the Racing Group, led by the president of the ACR, Justin Davis, a new company was born in the summer which gave life to the ACR Messina Futsal, today fully inserted in the Racing panorama: «The first contacts with Davis and the ACR date back to the month of February – said the sporting director of Messina Futsal, Giovanni Pinizzotto – when they came to watch some matches at Montepiselli, with the promise that we would talk again at the end of the year. And so it was. In the meantime we had obtained promotion to A2 Elite and the wedding was the natural epilogue. Now, we are happy to be part of this galaxy.”
The biggest problems, however, concern the structure where the Peloritani play their home matches: «In our initial plans there was the desire to move elsewhere, perhaps to the PalaRescifina – continued Pinizzotto – where we could have implemented a series of initiatives impossible to promote in Montepiselli. From ticketing, perhaps combined with the 11-a-side football team match, to hospitality, not to mention that the location of the PalaLaganà is unfortunate due to problems related to traffic and parking. We would have liked to create a show within a show, we hope to do so in the future.”
Finally, a look at the championship: «Spectacular and balanced tournament, we compete with teams that have crazy budgets, but we will make ourselves respected».
