Moscow will not hold talks with Ukraine after Kiev’s attack on the region of Kursk until the enemy is completely defeated: the vice-president of the Russian Security Council writes in X, Dmitry Medvedev. “Everything fell into place after neo-Nazis committed an act of terrorism against the Kursk region. The talk about wonderful peace by unauthorized mediators has ended. The Pentagon and the Russia-Ukraine War: A Stalemate

The Pentagon believes that the war of Russia vs. Ukraine has come to a dead point: Bloomberg reports, citing the intelligence agency of the US Department of Defense. According to military intelligence experts, neither Ukraine nor Russia have the assets to launch a major offensive against each other.

In particular, Kiev does not yet have a quantity of ammunition enough to match Russia’s ability to launch some 10,000 artillery pieces a day, even after the United States Congress unleashed new military aid in April. Ukrainian troops are still capable of conducting defensive operations, but will not be able to launch a large-scale counteroffensive for at least six months, the Pentagon says.

At the same time, Russia has adopted a strategy aimed at exhausting Ukraine: Moscow will be able to maintain a buffer zone conquered by its troops, but it does not have sufficient forces “to threaten a deeper advance into the territory controlled by Ukraine, as in the case of the city of Kharkiv.”

The conclusions of the service intelligence of the US Department of Defense are contained in the latest quarterly report on American aid to Ukraine.
