Basketball World Cup: Serbia defeated, Germany champion for the first time

Germany he beat Serbia 83-77 in the final of the Basketball World Cup and won his first world champion title. The Germans got the better of the Serbs who, on the eve of the match, were considered favourites. Driving Germany was Dennis Schroder, who plays in the NBA with the Toronto Raptors, who scored 28 points. Also on top is Franz Wagner (Orlando Magic) with 19 points. In the Serbian team, however, Bogdan Bogdanovic (Atlanta Hawks) reached 17. Better than him was Aleksa Avramovic (Partizan): 21 points for the Serbian guard. It is the first time in history that the German team has won the basketball world title.

Bronze to Canada, USA knocked out

The bronze went to Canada who won the match against the United States in overtime at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay, the Philippines, the national team that eliminated Pozzecco’s Azzurri in the quarter-finals. It ends 127-118 (34-25, 58-56, 91-82, 111-111 scores) with Dillon Brooks scoring 39 points and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander stopping at 31. Off the podium, therefore, the USA, favorites on the eve but who return home without medals and who today were defeated at the end of a match in which Paolo Banchero remained on the bench and which had Anthony Edwards (24 points) and Austin Reaves as the best of the Steve Kerr’s men’s coach.
