Once the group leaders have been defined, not without some stomach ache within the parties, at Palazzo Campanella it is time to finalize the composition of the council commissions. Six presidential positions are up for grabs, in addition to those of the Anti-‘Ndrangheta and the Supervisory Board, the latter being the prerogative of the opposition according to the rules of institutional grammar.
The governor Roberto Occhiuto would like not to fail in a consolidated practice and for this reason, during informal discussions, he would have reassured the leader of the progressives Pasquale Tridico on the willingness of the center-right majority to recognize the leadership of the control body to the minority. A gentlemen’s agreement that would allow the former president of the INPS to complete the imagined scheme: vice-presidency of the Chamber to the Democratic Party, position of secretary-chief of police to the “Tridico Presidente” list and Supervision to an exponent of the M5S, probably Elisabetta Barbuto, ready to take over in the Chamber once Tridico definitively leaves the Calabrian Regional Council to return to the European Parliament.
