Capo d’Orlando, gusts of wind make the party stalls “fly”: elderly woman ends up in hospital

By John

Gusts of wind at 80 km per hour brought dozens of street vendors to their knees who had set up their stalls in the market for the patronal festival of Capo d’Orlando which will have its “highlight” day tomorrow, Sunday. The wind blew tents and benches while some passers-by also took great risks. An elderly local lady was thrown to the ground and bleeding and was taken to the emergency room of the Sant’Agata di Militello hospital. The gusts of wind forced the amusement park rides to remain still but all activities related to the party remained blocked. The Civil Protection and the traffic police are at work while from Palazzo Europa they reiterate the alert notice that had already been issued yesterday.
