Legacoop Calabria, during the Cooperation Festival underway in Taurianova (RC), officially presented his “Manifesto for the development of the cooperative sector”the programmatic document that outlines the strategies and priorities for the relaunch of regional cooperation in the three-year period 2025-2027. It is, in all respects, a compass created to guide the entire Calabrian cooperative movement in crossing the present to build the future, facing crucial challenges such as youth occupation, depopulation of internal areas, innovation, legality and social cohesion. To present the document was Lorenzo Sibiopresident of Legacoop Calabria, together with his deputy Maurizio De Luca And Claudio Liotti.
“In a time that enhances the competition, we relaunch cooperation – said Sibio –. The manifesto is the result of a collective work: it analyzes the data, identifies vulnerability, but above all it puts a vision of inclusive, sustainable, legal and rooted development in the territories on white. Today, cooperatives are called to be protagonists not only in traditional sectors such as agri -food and social, but also in energy, digital innovation, culture and housing. We want to build a cooperative ecosystem that grows not only companies, but the communities».
“The Manifesto proposes a package of ambitious interventions, including the urgency to adapt the now overcome regional law on cooperation to current challenges -said vice -president Claudio Liotti -. With this document we therefore want to stimulate a strengthening of cooperatives support services, from the enhancement of the agro -industrial and cultural supply chains to the promotion of renewable energy communities, up to the construction of a network of qualified services on finance, training, innovation and internationalization».
The presentation of the document also saw the participation and intervention of Simone Gamberininational president of Legacoop, who came specifically in Calabria to underline the importance of the appointment for the entire cooperative sector and therefore for the economic and working fabric of the Region and therefore of the South: “Calabria – he said in his speech – It has a live and potentially explosive cooperative fabric. As National Legacoop we are at the side of Legacoop Calabria not only to enhance the strengths of the region, but also to combat the challenges that brake it. First of all, the depopulation, a phenomenon that risks dragging Calabria towards an unprecedented generational and productive crisis. The “manifesto” is therefore a concrete example of how cooperation can speak the language of modernity: we speak of innovation, of artificial intelligence applied to agriculture, social housing, urban regeneration, circular economy. Cooperation is the tool to return dignity and opportunities to territories and people».
The event saw the participation of cooperatives, public administrators, representatives of the third sector and young cooperators who have expressed interest and enthusiasm for the proposals contained in the document. The same will be available and downloadable from the official website of Legacoop (www.legacopcalabria.it) starting from Monday 2 June.
The manifesto will now be at the center of an institutional interlocution path with the Calabria Region, with the other cooperative plants, with the social partners and with the academic world: the goal is to build a regulatory and policy framework capable of transforming the advanced proposals into reality: “This manifesto is not a point of arrival, but a starting point – De Luca said -:: Calabria needs a cooperativism that knows how to be courageous, innovative, inclusive. And we, like Legacoop, are ready to do our part, together».
